Animal Health
The last fifty years have seen dramatic change across the UK’s animal health sector, which is worth in excess of £625 million per annum and employs thousands of highly skilled workers - both directly and indirectly. In the 1980s, commercial livestock consumed up to 70% of all animal medicine produced for the UK animal health industry. Today, improved vaccination programmes and an increase in welfare standards, mean food-producing animals now make up just 39% of the market, with the remainder dominated by domestic animals and pets (around 58%).
As the balance in the animal health and supplement space has shifted, our executive search work has extended to include every aspect of the industry from livestock genetics to pet nutrition, and all areas in between. In the livestock sector, we collaborate with companies looking to appoint top-level executives that can drive new standards in safety, traceability, innovation and sustainability, as well as performance and profitability. We’re also active in the domestic animal and pet sector – working with organisations that want to attract talented board-level professionals, who can help them capitalize on the opportunities that exist in this highly lucrative, fast-paced part of the animal health market.
If you’re looking to appoint a new person to your leadership or management team, get in touch with our animal health executive search consultant.
