Total Produce Northern Europe is evolving its organizational design and moving from a geographical based structure to a function-based approach where commercial leaders across the group of business will have new have responsibilities to create and implement functional strategies. This will harness the powers of the collective group rather than individual businesses and ensure sales strategies are fit for the current and future needs of their customers. As a result of this strategic development, TP NE now require a Business Development Director to lead this opportunity with a particular focus on the retail sector.

The Opportunity

Working alongside the Group Sales and Business Development Director, the Business Development Director will be responsible for acquiring new Retail customers for the TP Group in Northern Europe and for developing the Customer Acquisition Process for all Sales Managers in TPNE. This new role will act as a separate resource to galvanise, coordinate and realise sales growth opportunities across existing customers and TP NE companies as well as identify, engage and deliver new retail business within underdeveloped markets. The role will work in close partnership with colleagues across the group to drive this strategy and will bring a strong commercial and analytical approach to challenge existing models to create category based, retail customer focused propositions for all stakeholders.

The Candidate

To be suitable for this role candidates will need to be operating at a senior level across the European fresh produce industry within a Head of Business Development role or as Account or Commercial Director. Candidates will need to demonstrate creditability with growers and customers and utilize their broad supply chain knowledge to create new solutions. Candidates must be versatile, creative and entrepreneurial with the ability to build and deliver the new strategy influencing and motivating stakeholders to embrace change. Above all the right candidate will be a natural ‘hunter’ with the track record to back it up. The location for this new role is flexible in Northern Europe with principal locations of Benelux, Northern, Central and Eastern Europe but regular travel is a requirement of this role.
