The berry category is an integral part of Dole’s growth strategy in Europe and therefore the business is now looking to appoint a Managing Director to not only lead the ASF business in the Netherlands, but also drive a collaborative and coordinated berry strategy across the region.
The Opportunity
Based in the Netherlands, the Managing Director will have full P&L responsibility for the ASF business, developing and implementing the strategies, operations, people and culture to deliver on the objectives for the business and Group. The role will develop a clear informed strategic perspective of the business and the markets in which it operates through key relationships; both internally and with customers, suppliers and wider industry stakeholders, to ensure the business is best positioned, now and for the future.
In addition, the Managing Director will lead the implementation of Dole’s berry strategy, working with colleagues across the region to identify opportunities to collaborate and utilise the strengths of the group to drive sales, harness collective buying power, maximise operational efficiencies and leverage investment into variety development.
The Candidate
To be suitable for this role, candidates will have a successful track record in leading businesses through a growth strategy and be able to demonstrate a high level of commercial and operational awareness of the European fresh food markets. Candidates must have a clear vision on how to utilise the strengths of Dole’s offer at a national and regional level to create new, innovative and robust commercial strategies that will position Dole as a suitable, long-term partner of choice within the European berry market.
