Job Title: Group ESG Director
Location: Cambridgeshire (UK) or Valencia or Madrid (Spain)
At AMFRESH we believe the world deserves better.
We’re committed to finding sustainable ways to produce our food more efficiently; reduce inputs, cut back on waste and conserve water. Across our own operations and our supply chains, we’re working to ensure we uphold and advance human rights. In everything we do we aim to deliver a positive impact for farmers, workers, communities, consumers, partners and the world. We want to be judged by what we do, not by what we say. Our strong presence in FRESH spans an end-to-end operation in citrus, table grapes, tropical fruits, superfoods and plant-based fresh goods, delivering comprehensive solutions for our strategic partners and global consumers.
To strengthen this commitment, we now wish to appoint a Group ESG Director at a strategic level to lead & champion our commitment to environmental and social stewardship, by specifically leading the development, implementation and operation of the AMFRESH Group ESG Strategy.
Reporting to the Group Board, the Group ESG Director will develop and execute a comprehensive ESG strategy, aligned with the company’s long-term goals and industry best practices. The role will establish a clear vision for ESG within the organization whilst communicating its importance to all internal and external stakeholders. Recognised as the ESG figurehead, the position will be the company’s subject matter expert, driving the deployment of the Group’s strategy and ensuring that customers, suppliers and Global executive teams are engaged pro-actively at every stage. To this end, the Group ESG Director will ensure that their team and the local hubs are able to adapt and deploy the strategy to meet their local needs.
To be suitable for this role, candidates will need previous experience in a retail focused commercial food and drink environment with a track record of leading the development, implementation and operational delivery of a group wide ESG strategy. Candidates should demonstrate an ability to build and develop a multinational team; able to challenge and inspire the business to ensure it operates at the forefront of the ESG agenda. The scope for making an impact in this role can’t be overstated. You will be a leading voice in one of the world’s largest and fastest growing Fresh Produce businesses and will help to shape a model for a more sustainable way of working not only within AMFRESH but across the industry. Experience with vertically integrated fresh food supply chains is preferred but not essential.
