Our Client
We are working with a substantial food manufacturer with an outstanding reputation for quality, sustainability and customer service. The business has been established for more than 40 years and have positioned themselves as one of the leading in the chilled food sector having transformed the supply chain, farmer confidence, operations and customer commitments. With an eye on future growth, the business is looking to strengthen their manufacturing division, with the creation and appointment of a Divisional Managing Director to lead the business through its next phase of growth businesses.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the CEO, the new role will have responsibility for the running and development of a multisite operation, with complex high care processes and a significant and highly capable leadership team. Whilst the sites have good capability on a day-to-day basis, this role will lead the evolution of the sites, teams, processes and culture to move from good to best in class and therefore this role will have the autonomy and Board support to devise and execute the strategy to achieve this ambitious objective. The business has a long-established B2B customer base, who in turn supply some exacting retailers. This role will be responsible for further developing these relationships, both in the UK and Internationally.
The Candidate
This role calls for an experienced individual from a fast moving, own label, food manufacturing environment with a proven track record within General Management or with previous Managing Director experience. Cultural fit is a crucial component in this appointment so candidates will need to demonstrate a strong leadership style that is hands-on, approachable, inspiring, open and embracing of change and enables their teams to succeed. Suitable candidates will have an affinity for the agricultural sector and an empathy for the commercial and sustainability challenges the whole supply chain are tackling. Whilst this role is home-based, their sites are located across the UK and will require significant travel and presence on-site for the role to be as effective as possible.
