The Organisation
The British Beet Research Organisation (BBRO) is jointly funded by British Sugar and growers of sugar beet in the UK (represented by NFU Sugar). BBRO promotes sugar beet production by advancing research and sharing practical solutions to improve crop quality and production. BBRO collaborates with growers, industry bodies, corporations, educational institutions and policymakers to enhance the competitiveness and profitability of the UK sugar beet industry. BBRO’s Board is now looking for a Managing Director to lead BBRO through its next phase of development.
The Role
As Managing Director, you will lead the organisation ensuring the service and output is making a material impact in the commercial and technical development of the industry. You will be implementing a new strategy with a focus on taking cutting edge science and translating it into practical operational and technical solutions to improve profitability for the grower, processor and broader supply chain.
Working closely with the BBRO Board, Stakeholder Committee and Team, you will ensure the UK Beet Sugar industry is equipped to meet the challenges of today and flexible enough to seize the opportunities to help solve the challenges of tomorrow.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have experience in shaping and executing an organisational vision, strong leadership skills, and the ability to work across all levels, from farms to boardrooms. They should possess a can-do attitude, strategic insight, and attention to detail, the ability to look at the big picture and dig into the detail when necessary. The candidate will also be a strong team leader and possess excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
