Niab is now seeking a Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) to lead its commercial strategy and maximise the value of its innovation portfolio.

The Role

This pivotal leadership role will define and deliver Niab’s commercial vision, ensuring sustainable revenue growth and the successful commercialisation of research and technology. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and sitting on the Executive Leadership Team, the CCO will drive business development, manage strategic partnerships, and oversee commercial programmes across trials, membership, consultancy, and IP licensing.

The CCO will champion a culture of innovation and collaboration, aligning commercial objectives with Niab’s mission and values. They will lead the development of products and services that meet evolving market needs, strengthen Niab’s position as a trusted independent partner, and ensure financial sustainability. Representing Niab at the highest levels, the CCO will influence industry stakeholders and promote Niab’s role as a leader in agricultural innovation.

The Candidate

We are looking for an experienced senior commercial leader with a strong track record of driving growth and managing complex stakeholder relationships. The ideal candidate will have shaped and delivered commercial strategies within research, agri-food, or related sectors and understand how to turn scientific innovation into successful products and services.

They will combine financial and strategic acumen with deep knowledge of agriculture and food markets, alongside experience in commercialising research, managing innovation pipelines, and building strategic partnerships. Exceptional communication skills, sound judgement, and the ability to influence at board level are essential.

Location

The role is based at Niab’s Cambridge headquarters, with regular travel across the UK and occasional international engagement.
