Opportunity
Following the success of the Sales Manager project and trust that had built between Eden and Carr’s, Eden were appointed to support a succession planning requirement within the site leadership team. The Quality Manager on site, a long serving and highly valued member of the senior leadership team was due to retire. This is a pivotal role in the business which goes beyond upholding the high-quality standards on site to having high levels of involvement across the business and operating as a second in command to the site General Manager
Having been through this process several times in previous business with different recruitment / search companies, it was not something that was top of my preferences. However, with the help guidance and professionalism of Eden, their personal approach and process made this an enjoyable and successful project for Carr’s. Knowing your client and your client’s business is so important to a successful conclusion and the team at Eden make this a priority form the start.

Our approach
Managing this search during the COVID-19 lockdown period and at the height of social distancing Eden had to conduct the search in a manner that balanced sensitivity against the timelines of the brief. Despite travel restrictions, Eden utilised its own video conferencing facility to conduct assessments and in some cases a 2 step process to hone in on specific points around character traits and cultural fit.
The results
Eden presented a shortlist of 4 individuals in addition to 2 high potential candidates worthy of talent banking for the future, or as needs arise in the business.
The successful candidate was appointed in time to have a detailed handover with the incumbent Quality Manager and ensure they are set up for success.
