Over recent years Eden have developed a strong relationship with Fram Farmers, one of the largest and most progressive farmer owned co-operatives in the UK. Founded in 1960 as Framlingham Farmers, the group’s current strength comes from an extremely high level of commitment from the membership, the focus of the board of directors and the Fram commercial team delivering the best service and value of any farmer co-operative in the UK.
The newly appointed Group Chairman, embarking on his new vision for Fram, set Eden the extremely challenging task, in a very tight skills market, of finding a new CEO who had excellent commercial and industry experience coupled with the leadership ability to grasp the new opportunities the uncertain future will present UK Agriculture. The new leader needed to possess the ability to innovate and develop new concepts of service delivery for the Fram team to offer to the growing membership.

Eden Search & Select recognised this required an extremely targeted search and utilised the extensive sector knowledge of our Head of Agribusiness and the Research Teams detailed search techniques, to identify high performing candidates suitable to meet all aspects of the very demanding brief. The Eden team then engaged in detail with senior candidates from the industry having a distinct focus on cultural alignment and a clear understanding of the Fram strategy to ensure they were the ‘perfect fit’.
The results
Having presented the shortlist, our Head of Agribusiness guided and jointly planned a three-stage interview process with the Fram Board of Directors to ensure this critical decision was made with complete confidence. The Eden team were delighted that the Fram board appointed one of the most respected senior managers in the agricultural sector who has excellent leadership and people skills coupled with the entrepreneurial flare needed to drive the business forward to achieve its future success.
