Procurement Director
Multi-site – Lichfield or Wigan | UK
Competitive Salary + Executive Bonus & Benefits
The Company
Agrial Fresh Produce Limited is one of the UK’s leading producers of prepared, washed and ready-to-eat salads and vegetables, best known for the Florette brand. The business supplies branded and own-label products to major retailers, foodservice and B2B customers from a vertically integrated operation spanning processing sites, its own logistics capability and a UK growing operation. It forms part of Agrial, a leading farmer-owned agricultural and agri-food cooperative, which brings rare scale, farming capability and buying strength.
With these foundations in place, and an ambitious plan for growth, the business is now seeking a Procurement Director to lead sourcing within a multifaceted, seasonal and fast-moving operation.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Managing Director and joining the UK Executive Leadership Team, the Procurement Director will lead all elements of procurement across raw materials, packaging, indirect spend and agricultural inputs. It is a role of real breadth, combining responsibility for cost, quality, service and security of supply in a market shaped by weather, seasonality and volatility.
Priorities include developing strategic grower and supplier partnerships, securing long-term continuity of supply, and creating genuine value across direct and indirect spend. Just as important is building a high-performance culture and clear succession across the teams and acting as an ambassador for the business across the wider Agrial Group, including its international purchasing function. This is a genuine opportunity to shape sourcing strategy and make a visible impact on a leading UK fresh produce business.
The Candidate
We are seeking a commercially astute procurement leader with the judgement and pace to perform in a dynamic fresh food supply chain. Candidates will bring a proven record of senior leadership gained in fresh produce or fresh food manufacturing, with significant procurement and supplier development experience and first-class negotiation, contract management and commercial acumen across complex, multi-site operations.
The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking with confident decision-making under pressure, the ability to lead and develop multi-disciplinary teams, and the credibility to influence at executive level within the UK and Group. Resilience in a fast-moving, service-led environment is essential; CIPS qualification, and exposure to farming, agronomy or fresh produce, would be advantageous.
