Opportunity

Eden partnered with First Milk to support their search for a newly created Business Unit Director role to run their Milk division. This position is an important part of First Milk’s future growth plans, providing strategic leadership for their farmer members and their milk supply, whilst re-enforcing their commitment to regenerative farming and B-Corp status. The last 8 years have seen First Milk become a prominent figure in UK Agri-food, proving that the best environmental and sustainable practices can set businesses apart from their competitors and drive long lasting and profitable partnerships with customers.

Our approach

Following detailed discussions with key members of First Milk’s Executive team, it was clear that the right person would need to demonstrate strong commercial leadership, whilst being aligned with the Agri-food sector. Additionally, it was vital that character and culture fit were of paramount importance to the integration and success of the role. First Milk possess an industry leading team, with deep knowledge of their members and their customers. This role gave them the opportunity to bring a focussed strategic leader to the division in order to drive future value and growth.

After numerous conversations, we narrowed the search to experienced Managing Director calibre candidates, with a passion for agriculture, an ability to drive sustainability initiatives and who can inspire the team to achieve ever greater results.

The results

Eden’s comprehensive search produced a shortlist of six highly qualified candidates, each proven leaders in their fields, who were committed to driving profitable growth in an ethical and sustainable way. Following a series of four separate interviews and assessments, First Milk selected a candidate who will bring significant energy, passion and leadership to the role and who will support the CEO and the business with their next phase of development.
