In the heart of bustling Mayfair, greeted by spring sunshine and packed courtyards, we hosted our 5th Eden leadership dinner.

Aside from the excitement of being able to bring people together again, we also aimed to provide some inspiration to our food sector attendees from outside of the industry with former RAF pilot Matt Lindley joining us as a guest speaker.

From the minute everyone arrived it was clear to see the energy and desire to chat, share, mingle and network. Matt then took us on a journey, through his story of being in the RAF during a time when it was illegal to be gay, how this made him feel and ultimately how positive and empathetic  leadership turned the situation around.

Matt’s hard hitting story fuelled many questions and much debate around the table as to how we can all create the right diversity and inclusion strategies in our business and the impact of our behaviours as leaders.

As I summarised on the day (Matt is a tough act to follow) – Diversity is being invited to the party, inclusion is being asked to dance and belonging is feeling like you can dance like no-one is watching. Something we all have a right to feel

If you would be interested in attending a future Eden event, or are interested in discussing more detailed outputs from this dinner, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
